This is not a mind body spirit film, but a film made by my daughter and her friends when they were in school as part of a media project. It has been seen at various cinemas around the UK, nominated for awards, shown on Virgin Atlantic flights and at the 2009 Glastonbury Festival - I even found a reference to it being shown at a festival in Adelaide Australia!
A great one to watch for a better understanding of the anatomy of the body's energy system. Delivered by renowned author Dr. Caroline Myss, using specially created computer graphics, this film takes the viewer through the seven chakras and correlates them with daily practices for learning more about the physical language of the spirit.
Okay so this is a strange one - the story follows a divorced photographer who goes on a life-changing, mind-bending journey, which ultimately turns her perception of reality inside out and upside down and apparently clarifies the meaning of life. Semi-documentary, the film is interspersed with authorities on quantum physics, spirituality and more. I needed to watch this a few times before really getting into it and every time I've watched it I've gained a deeper insight.
A film which has latched onto the cosmic ordering bandwagon - my personal feelings on this are mixed, but I urge people to watch to make up their own minds. Can we really create the world we want and, if we could, what sort of a world would we end up with? Another film which includes lots of scientists, authors and philosophers talking to camera.
The film of James Redfield's first book in the Celestine Prophecy series. I liked this film and felt it was a good interpretation of the book - it re-awakened my interest in the series of books which I read years ago.
Dr. Wayne Dyer is one of the first authors, whose work I started reading a number of years ago when I started out on my journey of finding 'me', so when I heard about this film I was eager to see it. I have to say I was not disappointed. It is a film of intertwined stories which all take place in the Asilomar Conference Centre in Monterrey, California. Dr. Dyer appears as himself, being interviewed by a small film crew whose outlooks on life become affected by listening and talking to him, in addition the film also follows an over-achieving business man and his wife and also a mother of two who has lost her herself in being a full-time Mum & housewife. The scenery is breathtaking (and I can vouch for this as I have actually seen it for myself) and the music is lovely. Look out for the odd-job man - he's not what he seems!
PS - for those who have bought or seen Wayne's film "Ambition to Meaning" this is a revamped, extended version of that film apparently.
From the inspiring Louise L. Hay, this film is based on her best-seller of the same title. It is semi-autobiographical, part documentary and includes many first-hand accounts from those who have benefitted and been affected by Louise's work.
A feature length film exploring the effects of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). It's a combination of practitioners, speakers and teachers doing 'to camera' talks and a documentary following a group of people on a 4-day workshop with EFT practitioners to see if they can overcome fears, phobias, resolve issues in their lives, conquer addictions and more. If your interested in finding out more about EFT or have just started practising it this is a good film to watch.
This is a really lovely film. I confess I haven't read the book upon which it is based, so I was able to watch with an unbiased mind. I loved the scenery & I especially loved the bit where Julia Roberts' character is telling her friend not to worry about putting on weight, just get bigger jeans!
